Tighten the bottle on the gasket…. Many of the reviews say these bottles leak…and believe me, they do! However, if you understand the physics of how these bottles work, it is a simple fix solution. The silicone gasket in the bottom is brand new, and very stiff – it is not the greatest gasket for a thin plastic water bottle. If the bottle drips, all you need to do is tighten the bottom. If air leaks in, the water pours out. This is how the metal ball in the tube works. When the animal licks, the ball is turned or shoved up…
No leaks. Durable plastic, good gasket. I’ve had this for months and so far there are no leaks, when filled properly. The plastic bottle is a thicker, more durable plastic than similarly priced bottles.If a thin plastic is squeezed even a small amount, like the pressure put on by the metal holder, it’ll push water around the tube’s balls causing a leak. It may be a slow drip or a stream of water, depending on the amount of pressure.This bottle being a more durable plastic, there’s no need to worry about mild pressure…
Really doesn’t drip. Great price too. This bottle is the best I’ve tried so far. It drips for a minute or two after filling, but then it stops once the vacuum is created. I have watched as my guinea pigs drink out of it and it does not drip down during or after use. My only complaint is that I can barely see the floating turtle through the green bottle, so it’s hard to see the water level from more than a few feet away. I might get a second one of these bottles since I have two guinea pigs. It’s even cheaper here than most bottles…
