Healthy food, the way to go. If I was going to start with a new guinea pig, this would be the only food I would feed them. Mine started on another brand, so I mix half and half. A good hay and I give mine fresh fruit and veggies at night. Just keep in mind, after personally having over a dozen guinea pigs over the past 15 years, they have been over breed. They all seem to have health issues, or at least the sick ones find me. My current one, Sammie has cancer in a rear leg. A mass was removed 6 months ago, came back more…

Not Low Calcium! On the Verge of Bladder Stones Immediately After Switching Despite having done my research on what to feed my piggies (what vegetables, that is) to keep them happy and healthy for many more years to come, I did not have a clue about the importance of the quality and content of the pellets. I allowed my guinea pigs to eat as much pelleted food as they pleased, topping off their food bowl as needed to keep the pellets fresh (despite the fact that the pellets were probably never fresh, and very far past their expiration date). Not only do they wheek at me for their daily meal, but they eat it quickly and happily.
